A course school on HaHashmonaim, not a campus

Talk Bench is a private English-language course school at HaHashmonaim 88, Tel Aviv-Yafo. Adults book a seat for spoken work English, exam-style reading, or an evening conversation table. We teach in the room. We are not a university and we do not sit official exams.

The desk is open Sunday to Thursday 09:00–18:00 and Friday 09:00–13:00. Saturday the door stays locked. Write desk@talkbench.pro or call 03-624-1180. Hours follow Asia/Jerusalem and are current for October 2026.

Who we are

Three teachers share one street-level room. Mira runs the tables, Jonah coaches work speech, Sasha times the reading papers.

We opened so people who already “have English” could practise the next sentence out loud, with someone who will stop them kindly. The building is a Bauhaus walk-up. The school is the ground-floor door with the painted sign.

What we offer

In-person seats only. No webinar fallback, no degree, no exam stamp.

  • Spoken English for work — meetings, calls, and the corridor after
  • Exam-prep reading — we drill exam-style papers; we do not administer the exam
  • Evening conversation tables — reserved chairs, rotating city topics

Book a chair

Send the seat form. The desk answers with a time, not a credit check.

Sit the first hour

We listen more than we lecture. You leave with two phrases written in your notebook.

Keep the block

Same teacher for a run of weeks. Friday mornings are for catch-up only.

01

In the room

If you cannot reach HaHashmonaim that week, we hold the seat. We do not move you online.

02

Honest about exams

We drill papers. We do not administer tests or sell a licence we do not hold.

03

Adult hours

Tables after 17:30. Desk closed Saturday. Friday ends at 13:00.

04

Your week, your lines

Bring a real email or a call you dread. We work that, not a tourist unit.

How we teach

Four rules on the wall

Speak before you tidy. Stop for one clean sentence. Write it on the board. Send it back into the conversation.

That is the whole method. It is slower than a video course and faster than another year of “I understand but I cannot talk.”
